Bringing Texts to Life – Early Bird Offers for 2025
One of the most powerful ways to anchor students in their learning is through experiential theatre. Time and again, I’ve seen that once students get a play on its feet – stepping into characters, creating the stage world, and living the story – they suddenly find the language they need to express it on the page. Ideas stick, understanding deepens, and essays flow more naturally.
That’s why our workshops are built not only to energise drama lessons, but also to help students develop the vocabulary, confidence, and insight they need to write about performance with clarity and creativity. In short: we’re writing the essays on our feet.

Workshops to Inspire and Energise
Each workshop is designed to support your curriculum while giving students a practical, hands-on experience. Popular options include:
👺 Commedia dell’Arte – a high-energy introduction to masks, archetypes, and slapstick. Perfect for KS3, 4 or 5 and for set texts such as:
A Servant to Two Masters
Accidental Death of an Anarchist
The Arsonist
Much Ado About Nothing
Tartuffe
😱 Expressionism & Berkoff’s Theatre – unlocking the bold physicality of Metamorphosis, Machinal, Woyzeck and other set texts.
🤹♂️ Slapstick, Melodrama, Masks or Mime - ideal to anchor KS3 students with fast-paced, fun sessions that packed with transferrable skills for devising and further study.
These workshops don’t just prepare students for exams — they transform how they connect with theatre: building collaboration, sparking imagination, and helping even the most reluctant students find their confidence.
“Cheryl’s knowledge of commedia, alongside practical exercises to explore this, is absolutely invaluable. This is essential for A level students studying ADOAA or anyone studying Commedia. Cheryl’s knowledge is impeccable. I cannot thank her enough for the understanding she has given my students!”
Online Learning – Flexible, Affordable, Effective
It’s not always easy to take students off timetable for a full or half-day workshop. That’s why we also offer online sessions: flexible, cost-effective, and easy to schedule around your classes.
All you need is a large screen and a webcam, and we can beam directly into your classroom. Even through the screen, we’ve been able to deliver participatory, high-energy workshops that keep students engaged and on their feet.
At just £80 an hour (or £350 for a block of 5), online workshops are a great way to bring professional theatre training into your classroom without the disruption or expense of a whole-day booking.
“The practical aspects linked to the context which is exactly what they need to do when writing about the text. If you are doing anything Commedia related, book this workshop. It was fun, insightful and packed full of amazing ideas and context - perfect revision tool.”
